Police are investigating a homicide in which a woman was found dead in Yuen Long today (May 6).

Shortly after 12 pm, a report was made to Police that a South Asian woman was lying unconscious in Shan Pui Tsuen.

Police officers arrived at the scene and found the body of a middle- aged woman, with long hair and in medium build, lying on a slope near a bush.

Initial examination revealed that a cut wound, believed to be caused by a sharp object, was found on the woman's throat.

A post-mortem will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of her death.

Investigations by Regional Crime Unit, New Territories North, are proceeding.
