Police have classified the case as murder in which a two-year-old girl was found collapsed in her home in Sham Shui Po and certified dead at hospital yesterday (May 5).

The girl was taken to the Caritas Medical Centre for treatment by her parents after she was found collapsed at home on Un Chau Street, Sham Shui Po yesterday at about 2 pm.

The girl was certified dead at Caritas Medical Centre at about 2.30 pm. Initial enquiries revealed that there are multiple injuries on the girl's body.

The 33-year-old father and the 27-year-old mother of the girl were arrested yesterday and still being detained for further investigation.

A post-mortem will be conducted today to ascertain the cause of death.

Investigation by District Crime Squad, Sham Shui Po is proceeding.
