Eighteen pre-sale consents issued in third quarter of 2002

The Lands Department issued a total of 18 pre-sale consents for the sale of residential units in uncompleted developments between July and September 2002. All of them were completed within the Department's performance target time limit.

A spokesman for the Lands Department said today (October 11) that these consents were issued for the sale of 11,333 residential units on Hong Kong Island and Lantau Island, and in Kowloon, Sheung Shui, Tseung Kwan O, Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun. All these developments are estimated to be completed between 2002 and 2004.

Four consents to sell commercial units in Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan and Kwai Chung were also issued.

As at September 30, a total of 26 applications for pre-sale consent involving 20,673 residential units located in various parts of Hong Kong were pending approval. Of the developments pending consents, four are estimated to be completed in 2002, nine in 2003 and the remaining 13 in the first half of 2004.

Four applications for consent to sell commercial units were pending approval as at September 30.
