By simply calling the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD)'s Leisure Link Telephone Service Centre, members of the public can now register as Leisure Link patrons and be allocated a Leisure Link number immediately for online bookings of LCSD facilities and enrolment of programmes.
A spokesman for LCSD said today (June 4): "Since the launching of the new LCSD Leisure Link on-line booking services on March 26 this year, the average number of patrons registered each month has increased five folds from 3,000 before launching to 15,000. The total number of registered patrons has reached a record high of 500,000 up to mid-May this year."
"In view of the overwhelming response, LCSD has adopted another new and more user-friendly procedure for registration of patrons to encourage more members of the public to book leisure services or enroll in activities through internet," he added.
In addition to online registration, members of the public wishing to register as Leisure Link patrons can now call the Leisure Link Telephone Service Centre at 2314 7702 and be allocated with a Leisure Link number immediately for facility bookings and programme enrolments. The service hours for the registration is from 7am to 9pm daily.
Having taken down the required personal particulars of the applicant, LCSD staff of the telephone service centre will send the registration form to the applicant and a copy of the Terms and Conditions for the use of telephone/internet bookings for his/her reference.
The spokesman said that what he/she has to do is simply filling in the form and returning to the centre with a copy of his/her identification document for authentication.
The personal particulars provided would be only used for the purpose of registration of LCSD Leisure Link booking service, subsequent booking and use of leisure services of LCSD, he added.
The spokesman said: "Parents or guardians can also make use of the Leisure Link Telephone Service Centre by following the above mentioned procedure to register for their children under 18 years of age as patrons.
For those who prefer to use other channels for registering as patrons, they can now apply as an LCSD Leisure Link patron through online registration at http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/members/index.html or by picking up a registration form at major LCSD leisure venues.
Successfully launched since March 26 this year, the LCSD Leisure Link's online booking services provide cross-territory and round-the-clock online leisure facilities booking services.
LCSD registered patrons can enjoy the leisure facilities booking and programme enrolment services through the internet by simply visiting the LCSD homepage http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/leisurelink;or the Electronic Service Delivery (ESD) Scheme website http://www.esd.gov.hk or calling the telephone centres for making the bookings. The telephone centres are operated by the operators from 8.30am to 5 pm on weekdays and from 8.30 am to 12 noon on Saturdays. The Interactive Voice Respond System is in operation from 7 am to 9 pm daily.
The new round-the-clock online booking services cover all LCSD's leisure facilities except the turf pitches, water sports centres, holidays camps, climbing walls and golf driving ranges in the New Territories.
"The LCSD Leisure Link will be extended to cover bookings of all leisure facilities by the end of this year," he added.
