Yuen Long Tin Hau Festival grand procession on Sunday

A grand procession to celebrate the Tin Hau Festival at Yuen Long Shap Pat Heung, featuring golden dragons, colorful lions and unicorns, and participating teams from local villages and organisations, will be held on Sunday (May 5). Members of the public and tourists are welcome to enjoy the spectacular event and share the joy of the festive celebrations along roadsides in Yuen Long.

A total of six dragon dance teams, 13 lion and three unicorn dance teams, as well as a drums and gongs dance team, involving some 3,000 people from local villages and the community will perform in the grand procession.

The procession will set out at 10.30 am from the minibus terminus at Fung Cheung Road and advance along Hop Yick Road, Tai Tong Road, Kau Yuk Road before turning into the Yuen Long Stadium where an opening ceremony will be held at 11 am. It will then lead its way along Ma Tin Road, Tai Shu Ha Road East, and finally arrive at the Tai Shu Ha Tin Hau Temple at about 1.20 pm.

The event is organised by the Yuen Long Shap Pat Heung Tin Hau Festival Celebration Committee and the Shap Pat Heung Rural Committee.
