The Government spokesman today (April 9) announced that three new members, Ms Jasminia Kristine Cheung, Mr George Lung Chee-ming and Miss Amy Chan Lim-chee, have been appointed to the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education for a two-year term beginning from April 1, 2002.
Six incumbuent members have also been re-appointed for a term of two years starting from the same date. The re-appointees are Mr Chau How-chen, Mr Alex Fung Shung-yu, Mrs Fanny Lai Ip Po-ping, Dr Tam Wing-kun, Mr Tik Chi-yuen and Miss Annie Wu Suk-ching.
The Committee is a non-statutory advisory body tasked with the promotion of civic education through a range of publicity and educational programmes. It also organises funding scheme to sponsor non-governmental organisations in carrying out civic education projects.
