An Immigration Department spokesman announced that with effect from March 11, 2002 (Monday), the Immigration Sha Tin Office and Sha Tin District Births Registry will move to the new Sha Tin Government Offices.

The spokesman stated, "These two offices are responsible for processing applications for various travel documents, extension of stay in Hong Kong; and birth registration, search of birth record and issue of certified copy of birth certificate respectively."

The new addresses and telephone numbers of the two offices are as follows:-

(a) Immigration - Sha Tin Office

3rd Floor, Sha Tin Government Offices

(b) Sha Tin District Births Registry

The spokesman further stated that the above office/registry will continue to provide service to the public from Monday to Saturday during office hours.
