The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (February 15) that the Visa Cash and Mondex payment services provided at LCSD's 19 venues which accept electronic money from hirers for on-the-spot bookings would be suspended from February 17 and April 1, 2002 onwards respectively, following the termination of the two electronic money services by the issuing banks.

In addition to the 19 venues, the Visa Cash service at Tuen Mun Recreation and Sports Centre will also be discontinued starting tomorrow (February 16).

An LCSD spokesman said: "Nonetheless, payments for on-the-spot bookings at the 19 venues can now be still made by Mondex cards on or before March 31,2002.

"Hirers are also welcome to continue to use Octopus cards for on-the-spot bookings."

The 19 LCSD venues accepting electronic money payments are as follows:
