The competition is aimed to promote the interest of our students in science and technology; to develop their creativity throught better understanding and innovative application of science and technology; and to inspire their intellectual and career interest in science and technology. This will provide the teams with a chance to meet and interact with counterparts from around the world as well as enable them to learn and develop an international perspective on science.

As for the remaining nine finalist teams of the competition, they will also be sponsored to participate in technology camps jointly organised by the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the City University of Hong Kong next summer.
