The Government intends to reconstruct the Wu Kai Sha public pier which was built in the 1950s and requires frequent repairs.

An area of about 630 square metres of foreshore and sea-bed at Wu Kai Sha to be affected by the works is gazetted today (November 9).

The works, including the provision of a roof cover for shelter and shade, is scheduled to start in end-2002 and to be completed by mid-2004.

Any person who considers that he has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved may send a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road on or before January 9, 2002.

The notice together with a related plan can be inspected at the Lands Department Survey and Mapping Office, 23rd Floor, North Point Government Offices and Sha Tin District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, 1st Floor, Citylink Plaza.
