An Immigration Department spokesman said today (August 27), "an additional marriage hall will again be made available on December 16, 2001 at the Cotton Tree Drive Marriage Registry in order to further enhance the service to the public and to meet the heavy demand for marriage celebration service on auspicious day."

The additional marriage hall, with a seating capacity of 70, is located at the Lecture Theatre of the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, 7A Kennedy Road, Central.

Persons who wish to celebrate their marriages at the additional marriage hall at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre on 16 December 2001 should give notice of marriage in the prescribed form at the Marriage Registration and Records Office at 3/F, Low Block, Queensway Government Offices from September 17, 2001 onward.

"A total of 23 appointments for marriage ceremonies will be available at the additional marriage hall on December 16, 2001 which will be allotted on a first-come-first-served basis," added the spokesman.
