The following is issued on behalf of the Environmental Impact Assessment Appeal Board:

In the matter of the Appeal lodged by Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation against the decision of the Director of Environmental Protection not to approve the Environmental Impact Assessment report and not to issue an environmental permit under Section 8(3) and 10(5) of the Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance (Cap.499) in relation to the Sheung Shui to Lok Ma Chau Spur Line project, the Environmental Impact Assessment Appeal Board will hand down the Decision of the Appeal (in English only) at 4:00pm on 30 July 2001 on 38/F, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong.

Hard copies of the Decision (in English only) can be obtained at the above-mentioned venue immediately after the Board hands down the Decision, or at the reception counter of the Appeal Board office on 10/F, Citibank Tower, 3 Garden Road, Central, Hong Kong from 30 July 2001 after 4:30pm to 31 August 2001. The Decision will also be uploaded on the Environment and Food Bureau homepage at website (www.info.gov.hk/efb/board) for viewing.
