Police mounted an anti-crime operation on Hong Kong Island and arrested four men.
The operation codenamed "Levington" began at 8 pm last night (June 2). It was jointly conducted by Police officers attached to the Regional Anti-Triad Unit and Regional Intelligence Unit of Hong Kong Island, crime officers of various districts on Hong Kong Island as well as Police Tactical Unit.
During the operation which was concluded shortly after 5 am today (June 3), Police officers visited 67 premises where 1,836 persons were questioned and 537 persons were searched.
A man was arrested for disorderly conduct while three men, wanted for traffic offences, non-payment of fine and lending money at excessive interest rate respectively, were netted.
Meanwhile, two men who failed to produce identity documents were brought back to the Wan Chai Police Station.
Some suspected dangerous drugs, including 42 packets of ketamine, two rolls of cannabis and 14 tablets of ecstasy were also seized during the operation.
A Police spokesman stressed that similar operation would be conducted on a regular basis to stem out all unruly elements.
