The Postmaster General, Mr Luk Ping-chuen announced that Hongkong Post would extend the PayThruPost service to cover the collection of payment for PCCW-HKT phone bills starting today (April 28).
"In addition to accepting bill payments from CLP Power, Hongkong Electric and Towngas, customers can also pay their fixed-line telecom and IDD bills from PCCW-HKT by using our one-stop PayThruPost service. These public utility charges can be conveniently settled either by cash or cheque at all nearby post offices," said Mr Luk.
"To promote and celebrate the new addition to PayThruPost service, customers paying bills at any post offices on April 28 will receive a free magnetic sticker while stock lasts," Mr Luk added.
"Customer service has always been at the forefront of PCCW-HKT's operations. The addition of the PayThruPost payment channel reflects our continuous efforts in upgrading customer service," Mr Roy Wilson, Managing Director of PCCW-HKT, said.
"We believe that this arrangement will make it more convenient for our millions of customers to accomplish their bill payments while visiting post offices around Hong Kong," he said.
Currently 30 percent of PCCW-HKT customers pay their bills at PCCW-HKT shops or other affiliated retail outlets. Many of these people will benefit from the expanded payment program with the addition of 126 post offices throughout Hong Kong. There is no additional charge for this service.
For further information about the PayThruPost service, customers can call Hongkong Post service hotline at 2921-2222 or visit its website at www.hongkongpost.com.
