If you are physically fit and able to swim for 50 metres, you are welcome to join the Water Sports Membership Scheme organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) to make full use of the facilities at four designated water sports centres.

The four water sports centres are the St Stephen's Beach Water Sports Centre in Stanley; Tai Mei Tuk Water Sports Centre in Tai Po; Chong Hing Water Sports Centre and Jockey Club Wong Shek Water Sports Centre in Sai Kung.

A department spokesman said today (April 14), "By launching this scheme, we aim at enabling water sports lovers to enjoy water sports to the full, to improve their skills and to enhance their awareness of water sports safety."

The annual membership fee is $100. Members are entitled to various benefits, including exemption from day camp charges.

"In addition, scheme members will be able to enjoy discounts at specified water sports equipments suppliers," the spokesman added.

Members will also receive the Water Sports Scheme Newsletter and have the right to borrow reference books and videos at the water sports centres.

Application forms are now available at the four water sports centres and district leisure services offices. Completed forms should be returned to the Tai Mei Tuk Water Sports Centre at Main Dam, Plover Cove, Tai Po.
