The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (March 8) that the Middle Road Children's Playground, Wing On Plaza Garden and the southern part of the Urban Council Centenary Garden in Tsim Sha Tsui would be temporarily closed from March 12, 2001 to October 31, 2004; and part of the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade would also be temporarily closed from March 12, 2001 to December 31, 2003 for the construction of Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation's East Rail Tsim Sha Tsui Extension project.

The reprovisioning of the Middle Road Children's Playground and Wing On Plaza Garden would start after the completion of the East Rail extension project. The reprovisioning was expected to be completed by October 2004.
