********************** Following is the transcript of a media session by the Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, after visiting Wan Chai District today (December 21): Question: The Public Order Ordinance in that motion has been passed by LegCo that recreates suspicion that the Government will start arresting people now. Is there such a fear and will the Government review this Ordinance? Mr Tung: The Government is not there to arrest people. The Government is there to ensure those who want to protest, those who want to demonstrate will have the opportunity and the environment to let them to do it in a peaceful manner, and that others in the community are not inconvenienced by what they want to do. So this is always the Government's objective. Question: But is there any room for review of the Ordinance? Mr Tung: There was a full debate in the Legislature. I understand that the Government's position was supported overwhelmingly by the Members.
