Following is the transcript of the stand-up session by the Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, after casting his vote at the Hong Kong Park Indoor Games Hall for the 2000 Legislative Council Hong Kong Island Geographical Constituency By-election today (December 10):
Reporter: Mr Tung, are you happy with the polling results so far?
Mr Tung: Well, as I was saying earlier on that there was some reference to the fact that the turnout rate is somewhat lower, but this is the same everywhere when you are in a by-election. The Government actually has done a lot which spent $3.7 million in promotion on this. If you haven't voted, you better get on with it.
