Three Projects Offered under HOS Phase 22B

The following is issued on behalf of Hong Kong Housing Authority:

The Home Ownership Committee of Hong Kong Housing Authority approved today (December 1) the sale of 6 340 new flats in Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) Phase 22B and application will start early next month. The three projects to be sold are Hong Yat Court in Lam Tin, Broadview Court in Aberdeen and Bauhinia Garden in Tseung Kwan O.

"All the three projects can enjoy a spectacular seaview at prime locations. The selling price is marked at 44% discount which is equivalent to 56% of the market value so that all the flats are affordable to White Form applicants. We expect that the sale would be welcome by the general public," said Walter Chan, Chairman of the Home Ownership Committee.

Hong Yat Court, developed by the Housing Authority, is located on a high level site at Kai Tin Road right opposite to Kai Tin Estate. The MTR Lam Tin Station is within walking distance. The project consists of five 41-storey Concord blocks providing 1 600 flats with gross floor area (GFA) of 660 to 846 square feet. The average selling price ranges from $1,316,000 to $1,691,200 per flat or $1,995 per square feet GFA.

Broadview Court at Shum Wan Road is right next to Aberdeen Boat Club commanding a panoramic seaview. The project is a Private Sector Participation Scheme developed by Century Metro Development, subsidiary of COSCO International Holdings. The four 38- and 39-storey blocks were built on a 5-storey carpark podium to provide 1 540 residential units of gross floor area 505 to 707 square feet. The average selling price ranges from $1,054,500 to $1,476,800 per flat or $2,085 per square feet GFA.

Bauhinia Garden in Tseung Kwan O is the first Private Sector Participation Scheme to provide broadband optic fiber maintrunk and in addition, a 25-metre swimming pool for the exclusive use of residents. Other facilities include an 8-storey carpark providing 566 parking spaces, a 2-storey shopping arcade and an individually built 3-storey kindergarten. This large-scale project developed by Jade City International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Shui On Construction And Materials Limited is located at the junction of Tong Chun Street and Tong Tak Street. The eight 41-storey blocks provide 3 200 residential units of gross floor area 504 square feet to 692 square feet at a selling price from $825,900 to $1,134,400 per flat or $1,640 per square feet GFA.

All the three courts in Phase 22B are near completion. The anticipated completion date of Hong Yat Court and Bauhinia Garden is March 2001 while Broadview Court will be completed in July 2001. Assuming that balloting is going to be held in early February and flat selection to start in mid-February next year, most of the flats will be ready for immediate occupation by that time.
