The Director of Leisure and Cultural Services, Mr Paul Leung sai-wah, and members of Kowloon City District Council visited Hoi Sham Park in To Kwa Wan this morning (October 13) to see how its facilities could be improved.
The visit was a follow up on discussions between Mr Leung and members of Kowloon City District Council at their last meeting held on September 7.
During the visit, Mr Leung listened to the views of the District Councillors, led by their Chairman, Mr Liang Tin.
Having seen the facilities on site, the Director agreed in principle to undertake a number of improvement projects with a view to providing a better park environment for local residents.
These improvement projects include the building of additional toilets, planting more trees, resurfacing footpaths and other beautification works in the park.
"The Leisure and Cultural Services Department attaches great importance to District Councils' views and values District Councils as a major channel of communication between the government and the community," Mr Leung said.
He assured the District Councillors that the improvement works on the park would be carried out expeditiously.
