Local Standing Order Service

The Postmaster General, Mr. P. C. Luk, announced today ( September 21) that the Local Standing Order Service for advance ordering of new stamp issues in 2001 will be opened for application at all post offices from September 25, 2000. Customers may return their application forms to any post office, by mail or by on-line application via Hongkong Post web site at http://www.hongkongpoststamps.com.

Mr. Luk said, "the Local Standing Order Service is the most convenient and flexible means of collecting Hong Kong stamps. It guarantees that our customers could receive their desired orders without queuing up at post offices on new stamps issue days. As part of the continuous efforts to satisfy our customers' needs, the new Local Standing Order Service has simplified the order plan and provided exclusive incentives for ordering.

"By joining this Service, customers can receive the exciting stamp issues in 2001 either by delivery at door or over post office counter. There are also several convenient choices of payment methods available - cash, cheque, credit card, full-payment or even by installment."

Mr. Luk added, "Collectors should not miss the opportunity to collect our exciting issues in 2001 which are developed with innovative themes, design and printing technology. Highlights of the issues include the "Celebrating the 21st Century Stamp Sheetlet" (the first hologram stamp sheetlet), "Personal Greetings Stamps" (the first stamp with customers' photo), "150 Years of Water Supply in Hong Kong" Stamps (the first embossed stamp) , "Hong Kong Tea Culture" Stamps (the first-ever stamp scented with tea fragrance), "Children Stamps" (the first colouring-in stamp) etc."

Customers returning their applications before October 14 2000 will be able to receive attractive gifts as incentives and these exclusive gifts will not be put on sales. The incentives are offered according to the level of spending. The higher the level, the more and better gifts will be. Details of the incentive are available in the enclosed fact sheet No.2.
