The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (June 13) that the Sai Kung Public Swimming Pool had come into full operation following the completion of its second phase construction earlier this month.

A LCSD spokesman said:" In additional to a main pool already opened, the new facilities provided in second phase include a teaching pool, a leisure pool and a sun bathing area for the enjoyment of swimmers.

"With the approach of the peak swimming season, the opening of these new swimming pool facilities will definitely provide local residents with more venues for water sports."

Located at Wai Man Road in Sai Kung, the Sai Kung Public Swimming Pool also features such facilities as a spectator stand with a seating capacity of 500 persons, a light refreshment kiosk, toilets and changing rooms.

The daily opening hours of the swimming pool are from 6.30am to 12 noon, 1pm to 6.30pm and 7.30pm to 10pm. Enquiries can be made at 27926459.
