Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a two-year-old girl who was reported missing in Tseung Kwan O this (May 17) morning.
Shortly after 8.30 am, a woman took her three children, including the two-year-old girl and her two elder brothers, aged five and seven, to an open area outside Sheung Shun House in Sheung Tak Estate.
The mother brought her seven-year-old son to a nearby school and asked the other kids to stay at the lobby of Sheung Shun House.
She returned shortly afterwards but found the children missing. She later located her son in a shopping centre in the estate.
Enquiries revealed that a woman brought the girl and her five-year-old brother to a convenience store in the shopping centre.
After taking some candies from the woman, the boy found that his sister disappeared together with the woman.
The missing girl, named Wong Mei-kei, has round face, short hair and is of medium build. She was last seen wearing a white shirt, a pair of white knee-length pants, pink sandals and has a pink rucksack.
Police are now looking for the woman suspected to have taken the girl away. Aged between 25 and 27, she was wearing a dark- coloured long sleeve T-shirt, a grey skirt and a pair of dark-coloured shoes.
Investigations by District Crime Squad, Kwun Tong, are underway.
Police urged anyone who know the whereabouts of the missing girl or has any information to offer to contact the investigating officers on 9168 1050, 2709 8327 or Tseung Kwan O Police Station on 2703 2200.
