The new Yuen Long Theatre managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department is now accepting venue booking for the month of September 2000. Application for the ordinary booking closes on February 29, 2000.

In addition, the Theatre is also accepting venue booking between May 13 and August 31, 2000.

Located at Yuen Long Tai Yuk Road and adjacent to the Yuen Long Town Park, Swimming Pool and Stadium, this medium-scale civic centre is served by various efficient public transportation systems close at hand.

The Yuen Long Theatre, an ideal venue for a wide range of cultural presentations and entertainment programmes, houses an auditorium, a dance studio, a rehearsal room and a lecture room. The spacious foyer can also be used for small-scale exhibitions.

The auditorium with 923 seats is a suitable venue for cultural programmes ranging from concerts, Cantonese operas, dramas, dances, to community events and films. Apart from its advanced lighting and stage facilities, the auditorium is installed with unique 24 remote-controlled motorised drapes to vary the acoustic absorption to suit the requirements of different presentations. The last two rows are equipped with the infrared audio system to facilitate the hard of hearing.

The dance studio (180 sq m) and rehearsal room (192 sq m) equipped with wall mirrors and dance bars, are suitable for training and rehearsal purposes.

Besides, the lecture room (117sq m) provided with the projection and mobile film screen system, is ideal for organising lectures and seminars.

The Yuen Long Theatre offers free guided tour service to potential hirers on venue facilities. Non-profit making organisations can enjoy concessionary rates for venue booking.
