The Immigration Department announced today (Monday) that with effect from tomorrow (Tuesday), overseas Hong Kong residents may submit applications relating to change of nationality (including declaration of change of nationality, naturalisation as a Chinese national, renunciation and restoration of Chinese nationality) to the Immigration Department through the Chinese diplomatic or consular missions. Applications may also be submitted to the Immigration Department direct.
"Application forms and guide books will be obtainable free of charge from the Immigration Headquarters, Immigration Branch Offices, any Chinese diplomatic or consular mission or at a later stage, the Department's Home Page (http://www.info.gov.hk/immd/), a spokesman for the Immigration Department said.
"Enquiries can be made by telephone 2824 6111 or fax 2877 7711 or E-mail (address: enquiry@immd.gcn.gov.hk)."
