Additional Shows for "Fantasia 2000" at Hong Kong Space Museum

*********************************************************

Fantasia 2000, the latest breathtaking animation achievement by Walt Disney Pictures released at the Hong Kong Space Museum by Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) in conjunction with Intercontinental Film Distributors (HK) Limited and Walt Disney Company, is well-received by the public. In order to provide more opportunities for the public to view this fantastic extravaganza, the spokesman of the LCSD announces today (Sunday) that additional shows will be introduced form February 7.

Starting from February 7, an additional show of Fantasia 2000 at 9.30 pm will be available on every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. Advance booking of tickets is available at all URBTIX outlets.

Fantasia 2000 is a brilliant reflection of its classic 1940 predecessor, Fantasia. The original Fantasia combined the genius of classical music with the visual magic of animation, making full use of the time's most advanced technologies to bring the outer limits of the imagination to life. Fantasia 2000 continues and builds upon Walt Disney's original idea with the creation of a musical repertoire programme that includes seven exciting new animated segments and one returning favourite, The Sorcerers Apprentice, which has been digitally restored and re-mastered for the presentation to audiences.

The 77-miuntes Fantasia 2000 IMAX experience is set to be the definitive movie event of the age, embracing the latest technological tools and innovations to tell its stories and create unforgettable imagery.

Disney's Fantasia 2000 is currently being shown at the Hong Kong Space Museum exclusively in Hong Kong and around the world at IMAX theatres and will screen until April 30, 2000. Tickets of $56 (stalls) and $42 (front stalls) with half-price concessions for full-time students, people with disabilities and senior citizens aged 60 or above are available at URBTIX outlets. For telephone reservations, please call URBTIX hotline on 2734 9009.

Hong Kong Space Museum is located at 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. The Museum opens from 1 pm to 9 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; from 10 am to 9 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. It is closed at 5 pm on the Chinese New Year's Eve (February 4) and closed for the whole day on Tuesdays and the first two days of the Chinese New Year (February 5 and 6).
