With effect from January 20, HKSAR passport holders will be able to enjoy greater ease of travel to the Republic of Hungary, a Government spokesman said today (Monday).

The Government of the Republic of Hungary has agreed to issue visas to HKSAR passport holders upon arrival at the Budapest International Airport for a stay up to 30 days.

With effect from the same date, passport holders of the Republic of Hungary may enter the HKSAR without a visa for visiting purpose up to 14 days.

"We hope that the improved travel convenience for Hong Kong residents and Hungarian nationals will help develop a mutually beneficial relationship, and will strengthen the economic, social and cultural ties between the two places," the spokesman said.
