The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) today (Sunday) launched a new series of road show as part its continuous effort in promoting public awareness of the safe use of electrical appliances and installations, gas appliances, lifts and escalators, as well as the importance of energy efficiency.
The roving road show will be held at shopping centres of housing estates or during fire safety carnivals in ten districts from January to March this year with the first of the series staged today at Tin Wan Shopping Centre, Tin Wan Estate, Aberdeen.
The road show features, among other things, display panels and interactive computer games which were designed to enable members of the public to have a better understanding on the safe use of household electrical appliances
Staff of the EMSD were also be on hand to answer questions from residents on new safety legislation of gas water heaters, the proper way to use lifts and escalators, and how to choose energy efficient electrical appliances.
In addition, souvenirs carrying home safety messages were distributed.
