The following is issued on behalf of the Provisional Urban Council:

As at 12 midnight yesterday (Saturday), the Urban Services Department in its last day's anti-wax burning operation issued a total of one summon and 1,015 verbal warnings to members of the public who have violated the Provisional Urban Council (PUC)'s Bylaw to burn candle and wax in the Council's pleasure grounds during the Mid-Autumn Festival, with no injury cases reported. Four other summons were also issued against littering.

This brings to a total of 22 summons and 7,927 verbal warnings issued in the three-day anti-wax burning operation launched at the PUC's pleasure grounds since this Thursday (September 23). Among these summons issued, 13 were against anti-wax burning activities while nine were against littering or illegal hawking. No injury cases were reported so far.
