Following is the English portion of the transcript of the media session by the acting Chief Executive, Mrs Anson Chan, at the end of her visit to urban redevelopment sites this (Friday) afternoon:

Reporter: Mrs Chan, could you respond to recent survey results saying people's satisfaction ratings on the performance of the government has hit the bottom?

Mrs Chan: A number of different organisations of course conduct regular surveys of the community's opinion about the performance of government, whether it is senior officials or department heads. And I can assure you that with each survey result, we of course take the result very seriously. It is a reminder to us as to the efficiency in our performance, and in the light of these survey findings we would of course always regularly review our performance. Our objective is to serve the community in the best way we can to make optimum use of resources. We are constantly looking at ways to improve our productivity and to improve the ethics and the behavior of individual civil servants. Thank you.
