The Highways Department is seeking bidders for the widening of Fo Tan Road and related improvement measures in Fo Tan.

The project comprises the widening of a section of Fo Tan Road between Yuen Wo Road and Kwei Tei Street by providing an additional lane in each direction.

It will involve the construction of highway bridges, modification of two pedestrian subways, relocation of a pedestrian link across the Fo Tan Nullah, as well as related slope and road works.

Works are expected to commence in November this year for completion in December 2002.

Contractors on the List of Approved Contractors for Public Works in Group C for roads and drainage works are invited to tender.

They can obtain forms of tender and further particulars from Mott Connell Limited, 40th floor, Hopewell Centre, 183 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai.

Sealed tenders, clearly marked with the tender reference and the subject of the tender on the outside of the envelope, should be addressed to the Chairman, Central Tender Board.

They should be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box at the lift lobby, lower ground floor, Central Government Offices (East Wing), Lower Albert Road, Hong Kong before noon on September 3.

Late submissions will not be entertained.
