Police are detaining a 31-year-old Thai man arrested in connection with the death of a 38-year-old Thai woman whose body was found in a Causeway Bay building last (Tuesday) night.

At about 6 pm yesterday, the man surrendered to Happy Valley Police Station, saying that he had killed his wife at their flat of a building on 58 Paterson Street, Causeway Bay.

Police officers went to their flat and discovered the body of a woman in a pool of blood on a bed.

Stab wounds were found on her chest, back and right leg. An autopsy will be conducted today (Wednesday) to ascertain the cause of death.

Initial enquiries showed that the man had a dispute with his wife at about 7 am yesterday and the woman was reportedly stabbed by him with a knife.

Investigations by District Crime Squad, Wan Chai, are proceeding.
