Following is the English portion of the transcript of the media session by the Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, after his visit to Tai Po this (Wednesday) afternoon.
Reporter : Mr Tung, what do you think about legislators going ahead to Beijing in a bid to block the NPC Standing Committee's re-interpretation of the Basic Law? What do you think about that?
Mr Tung : As I said earlier on in Chinese that the letter submitted by the 19 legislators has been transmitted to Beijing, and the request to go up to Beijing has also been transmitted. But as I also said earlier on that actually when I submitted my report to the State Council, it was submitted together with 19 booklets collecting all sorts of opinions in Hong Kong with regard to this particular issue. Those who are in favour, those who are against, those who are in the legislature, those who are not in the legislature. So these views are well known actually here in Hong Kong as well as in Beijing already.
