The following is issued on behalf of the Provisional Regional Council:
The Shing Mun Valley Swimming Complex located at 21 Shing Mun Road, Tsuen Wan will be open for public use this Wednesday (May 5).
The swimming complex consists of an indoor heated Olympic size main pool cum diving pool and the outdoor facilities. This is the first solar heated indoor swimming pool of the Provisional Regional Council and the water depth of half of the pool can be adjusted from 0 to 5 metres when necessary. The indoor heated pool has been open for public use last December.
The outdoor pool, which will be in use soon, comprises of a teaching pool, a training pool, a leisure pool (with water slides, water play equipment and Jacuzzi area) and a sunbathing area.
The daily opening hours of the swimming complex during Summer months (April to October) is 7 am to noon, 1.30 pm to 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm to 10 pm. The daily opening hours of the swimming complex during peak Summer months (June to August) is 6.30 am to noon, 1.30 pm to 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm to 10 pm.
Admission fee during non-peak period (Monday to Friday) is $17 for adults and $8 for children, the elderly and people with disabilities. Admission fee during peak hours (Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday) is $20 for adults and $9 for children, the elderly and people with disabilities.
The swimming complex is accessible by Kowloon Motor Bus No. 32, 32B, 32M, 43X and 49X; Green Light Bus 81M and 82M as well as Public Light Bus.
