The Producer and Director of Die Fledermaus, Lo King-man, will present two free of charge operetta talks on his latest production in Sha Tin Town Hall (STTH) in the evening of next Wednesday (April 7) and Thursday, April 15.
The talks will be conducted in Cantonese at the Lecture Room I of STTH between 7 pm to 8.15 pm with video tapes and CDs illustration by Mr Lo, who is also the Director of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
The prior talk on April 7 will focus on the musical aspect and scripts of the drama whereas the latter on April 15 will feature the production process.
Free admission vouchers are now available at the Box Office of STTH on a first-come-first-served basis.
The operetta, with a theme of "the Bat's Revenge" involving a love affair by European aristocracy of the 19th century, is presented by the Provisional Regional Council as a special production to commemorate the centenary of the Waltz King of Waltzes, Johann Strauss II who passed away a century ago. It will be staged at the Auditorium of STTH at 7.30 pm from April 16 (Friday) to 18 (Sunday).
Live accompaniment will be played by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Yu Long. The Academy Dancers and Synchro will perform the Blue Danube Waltz and the Tritsch Tratsch Polka in Act II of the banquet-ball scene.
