Following is the transcript of the Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa's media session in Beijing this (Thursday) evening (English part):
Reporter: What would you be discussing with senior leaders here. Will the Court of Final Appeal's judgement be on the agenda?
Mr Tung: I think, taking the opportunity of my visit to Beijing, to have the opportunity, I hope to discuss a full range of issues. Of course, I'll be interested to learn about the economic developments and plans for this year, for the next few years, because economic developments for the whole country have a very important relationship with Hong Kong. As you know, because the country's economy is doing well, it will help Hong Kong greatly. I will also have the opportunity to exchange views and listen to views about the world economic trends and how would that affect Asia, China as a whole and Hong Kong. And then, obviously we will be discussing issues which relate to Hong Kong. I will not be surprised that the CFA issue would be raised, although as I've said earlier on in Chinese, we have a special task force now looking at the problem and until we have finalised the task force's study and have fully consulted the people on how do we move forward, that will be very important to any discussion on that issue.
Reporter: What if you and the Government have raised the case or plan to raise the case of Li Yuhui who is on trial today, just on jurisdication issue. Are there any plans for you or your Government or have you raised this case with them?
Mr Tung: No, because the jurisdictional issue is very clear.
Reporter: Could you elaborate please?
Mr Tung: I would not because it will take too long. Thank you.
