Reopening of Anchor Street Playground

The following is issued on behalf of the Provisional Urban Council:

The Provisional Urban Council announced today (Tuesday) that Anchor Street Playground at Tai Kok Tsui, Mongkok will be reopened from tomorrow (Wednesday) following the completion of redevelopment works to the venue to provide nearby residents a place for recreation and relaxation.

Covering an area of 0.9 hectares, the park was reopened to include new facilities of a colour-coated soccer pitch with covered spectator stand and timer/scoreboard; a Tai Chi corner; a toilet block with changing and shower facilities; and a first aid room and park office.

Other facilities redeveloped include a children's play area with attractive multi-play equipment for children of different age groups; a roller skating rink; a colour-coated basketball court; and a rest garden with planting areas, arbours, benches and drinking fountains.
