Following is a transcript of the English part of the meet-the-media session given by the Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, at Central Government Offices, this (Wednesday) afternoon:

Reporter: Could you tell us about this meeting tonight with the legislators - what is behind it, whether it is linked to the drop today in the Hang Seng Index?

Mr Tung: I am looking forward to meeting the Legislative Councillors. I want to congratulate them personally for having been elected. This arrangement was made some time ago but obviously I want to emphasise the need for all of us to work together, especially at these times when the economy is under pressure and we need to work very well together to move forward.
