Entry visa for Cambodia

***********************

A government spokesman said that the Cambodian Government has notified the Immigration Department that with effect from May 15, 1998 (Friday), all foreign travellers except those holding valid passports of the countries or territories that have visa exemption agreements with Cambodia, are required to apply, prior to their departure to Cambodia, for appropriate entry visas at the nearest Cambodian embassies or consulates.

Previously, foreign travellers to Cambodia can obtain entry visa upon arrival at the Pochengtong International Airport but this practice will cease with effect from May 15, 1998.

"As Hong Kong has not entered into any visa exemption agreements with Cambodia, the practical effect is that Hong Kong residents will, with effect from that date, have to obtain a visa from the Cambodian Consulate in Hong Kong before their departure to Cambodia," the spokesman added.
