Following is the transcript (English part) of the Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, speaking to the media after officiating at the opening ceremony of the Exhibition on Sustainable Development in Hong Kong for the 21st century today (Thursday):

Reporter: Mr Tung...what do you say when people complain this is small-time elections, Mr Tung?

Chief Executive: I said earlier on this is an election for an 800-people Election Committee. The election will be fair and will be open. The 800 will be representing views from all cross-section of our community, and they will take up a very important responsibility to choose 10 members of the Legislature.
