ADVICE
------
[A] At "Moderate" level, no response is normally
required. For those people with existing heart or
    respiratory illnesses and are experiencing
symptoms, they should consider reducing outdoor
    physical exertion.
[B] At "High" level, children, elderly and people with
existing heart or respiratory illnesses should
reduce outdoor physical exertion and staying
outdoors, especially in areas with heavy traffic.
[C] At "Very High" level, children, elderly and people
with existing heart or respiratory illnesses
should reduce to the minimum outdoor physical
exertion and staying outdoors, especially in areas
    with heavy traffic.
[D] At "Serious" level, children, elderly and people
with existing heart or respiratory illnesses should
avoid outdoor physical exertion and staying
outdoors, especially in areas with heavy traffic.

Additional Advice to Outdoor Workers
At "Very High" level, employers of outdoor workers
performing heavy manual works are advised to assess the
risk of outdoor work, and take appropriate preventive
measures to protect the health of their employees such
as reducing outdoor physical exertion and the time of
their stay outdoors, especially in areas with heavy
traffic. At "Serious" level, employers of all outdoor
workers are advised to assess the risk of outdoor work,
and take appropriate preventive measures to protect the
health of their employees.

ADDITIONAL ADVICE TO SCHOOLS
----------------------------
When AQHI is at "High" or above levels, the Education
Bureau (EDB) urges all schools to make reference to the
relevant EDB Circular on AQHI, and adopt appropriate
measures.

*Special Note to Roadside Alert
Unless you spend several hours continuously in a day in
busy streets, you should refer to the AQHI of the
General Station, which is more relevant to most of us
as it represents the air pollution that we are exposed
to for most of the time.

Other General ADVICE
--------------------
1. As the health effects on individuals may vary, you
should seek advice from a medical doctor if you are
   in doubt or feel uncomfortable.
2. The amount of physical exercise that should be
performed differs according to the individual's
physical capacity, and should be tailored to one's
own physical condition. Ask your doctor for advice.
