MARKETING CONSULTANCY OFFICE (REHABILITATION) The Social Welfare Department ("SWD") and rehabilitation organisations always strive hard to provide rehabilitation services for people with disabilities ("PWDs") to help them develop their potentials for moving towards self-reliance and integrating into the community. Vocational training in actual working environment is also provided for PWDs to prepare them for future open employment. Over the years, the Marketing Consultancy Office (Rehabilitation) ["MCO(R)"] of SWD has promoted the abilities of PWDs through various publicity progammes with a view to enabling companies and organisations in both public and private sectors to understand and recognise PWDs' abilities. It is hoped that more employment opportunities for PWDs in actual working environment could then be generated, and PWDs' abilities and self-confidence would be further enhanced. The office has a strong alliance with 36 rehabilitation organisations operating around 150 vocational rehabilitation service units including sheltered workshops, supported employment units, integrated vocational rehabilitation services centres, integrated vocational training centres and social enterprises set up under the "Enhancing Employment of People with Disabilities through Small Enterpris" Project with a pool of manpower of more than 10,000 PWDs.
