RUY BARRETTO, SC
Born and educated in Hong Kong, Mr Barretto was admitted to the Bar in 1975 and has been doing legal aid cases since then. He has been the chairman of all the various pollution control appeal boards. He has been on the Volunteer Lawyer Roster of the Duty Lawyer Service, and is a member of the boards and directors of Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Gardens and sits on various boards and committees concerning health, conservation and human rights.

ANDREW BRUCE, SC
Mr Andrew Bruce has been a barrister in private practice since 2001. From 1982 to 2001 he was a prosecutor with the Department of Justice. He has been a member of the Bar Council of the Hong Kong Bar Association since 2002 and is presently Vice-chairman of the Bar. Since 1982 Andrew Bruce has been involved in the development of legal education in Hong Kong including as a member from time to time of the Faculty Boards of both Hong Kong University and the City University of Hong Kong.

Dr CHUANG SIU-LEUNG ANDREW, SBS, JP, FHKIE
Ir Dr Chuang has been active in business and education sectors, participating as chairman and members on various boards, committees and councils. He is currently Chairman of Design Council of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries and Chairman of the Operations Review Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption. He is a Director of Gold Peak Industries (Holdings) Ltd.

HO KWAN-YIU JUNIUS
Mr Junius Ho was admitted as solicitor of Hong Kong in 1988 and is currently a partner of Messrs K C Ho & Fong. He is currently a member of various boards and committees, including the Council of the Law Society of Hong Kong, the Council of the Duty Lawyer Service and the District Court Rules Committee.

MA WAH-YAN BILLY
Mr Ma is a practising solicitor and founder partner of Messrs Hobson & Ma, Solicitors & Notaries. He was elected to the Council of the Law Society of Hong Kong in 2000. He is a Notary Public and a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Singapore and the Supreme Court of Australia Capital Territory.

NG SHUI-LAI, BBS, JP
Mr Ng is an experienced social worker. He has initiated a number of pilot projects in response to changing needs in the community. He was President of the Hong Kong Social Workers Association and Vice-President of the International Federation of Social Workers. Besides being the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Christian Service, Mr Ng is active in public service and currently member of the Housing Authority, Town Planning Board, etc, and is also serving as part-time member of the Central Policy Unit. He contributes articles on social policy regularly.

JUSTEIN WONG CHUN, JP
Mr Wong graduated in 1977 from Simon Fraser University in Commerce & Computing Science. He is currently a director of Ramus Information Systems Limited, an information technology consulting firm, and a number of investment companies. Active in community service, Mr Wong serves on the Sha Tin District Council and many government committees including Action Committee Against Narcotics, Energy Advisory Committee, etc. He is past chairman of The Outstanding Young Persons' Association.

STEPHEN YAU HOW-BOA, MH, JP
Mr Yau has extensive experience in the social services field for the past thirty years. He was nominated and selected to serve on various local and overseas public bodies contributing his expertise and experience to the health and welfare sectors. Mr Yau is the Chairman of the Institute of Social Service Development which aims to promote communication and co-operation of social services between Hong Kong and China Mainland. He is the Chief Executive of International Social Service Hong Kong Branch.

BENJAMIN CHEUNG KING-MAN, JP
Mr Cheung was appointed Director of Legal Aid in August 2004. He joined the Legal Aid Department as a Law Clerk in July 1973. He was appointed as Legal Aid Officer in March 1983 and was promoted to Senior Legal Aid Counsel in May 1988, to Assistant Principal Legal Aid Counsel in October 1990, to Deputy Principal Legal Aid Counsel in June 1994, and to Deputy Director of Legal Aid in April 1996.
