Kwai Tsing District Council
Council values any opportunity to receive views from the community on legal aid and to explain Council's role in the provision of such service.
Council stands ready to meet District Councils as they represent bodies of opinion from different regions in Hong Kong. In August 2005, Council members met the Community Affairs Committee of Kwai Tsing District Council. There was active discussion with District Council members on legal aid issues, such as review of financial eligibility limits, merits test, the scope of legal aid and claims recovery agents. Council will continue to explore such opportunity with a view to promoting wider public participation in legal aid matters.
