The Administration
During the year, Council maintained regular contact with the Director of Administration. On 21 June 2005, Council met the Director of Administration and Deputy Director of Administration. The Director conveyed her comments on Council's proposals to expand the Legal Aid Ordinance Section 26A Scheme and to enhance monitoring of panel lawyers' performance of the Scheme. In January 2006, the Deputy Director of Administration attended Council meeting to brief members on the Administration's annual review of the financial eligibility limits of legal aid applicants.
In addition, Ms Elizabeth Tse and Miss Shirley Yuen, who took over Ms Chang King Yiu and Miss Eliza Lee as Director and Deputy Director of Administration respectively, were introduced to Council members in March 2006.
