3 Dimensional Weather Radar Image

Demonstration

*Notice to users

  • The above images show 3-dimensional view of rain, in various shades of grey, as detected by Hong Kong Observatory's radar. Radar images at half-hourly intervals for the past 3 hours are normally displayed.

  • A weather radar may occasionally pick up signals from sources other than rain and clouds, such as reflection from ground, hills and sea. These signals may show up on the radar images. Please exercise care when interpreting the images.

  • False visual phenomenon of a hole and concentric rings may occasionally appear on the radar images. Please click here for an explanation of the phenomenon.

  • The time of the radar image represents the time when the radar completes its scans. Usually, it will take about half an hour to generate the radar image and upload it to the website.
