Smoke and Haze from Indonesian Forest Fires dissipated significantly - (17 June 1998)
The rain clouds developed at the southern part of the South China Sea and Borneo during the past few weeks effectively washed out the smoke and haze emanating from the Indonesian forest fires. According to satellite imageries, the smoke and haze have dissipated tremendously and Hong Kong will no longer under the threat of the smoke and haze emanated from the forest fires.
The Observatory will provide updated information should there be any reoccurrence of Indonesian forest fires and
produce smoke and haze.
