Dear Sir/Madam,
United Nations Sanctions (Côte d'Ivoire) Regulation 2008 and United Nations
Sanctions (Democratic Republic of the Congo) Regulation 2008
I am writing to draw your
attention to the publication of the following regulations:
(i) United Nations
Sanctions (Côte
d’Ivoire) Regulation 2008
The United Nations
Sanctions (Côte d'Ivoire) Regulation 2008 was made by the Chief Executive
under the United Nations Sanctions Ordinance (Cap. 537) on 25 January 2008.
It replaces the United Nations Sanctions (Côte d'Ivoire) Regulation 2007 and
provides for the further implementation of the sanctions imposed by the
United Nations Security Council in Resolution 1782 (2007). On 1 February
2008, a list of persons and entities were specified bcby the Chief Executive
as a relevant person or a relevant entity under section 32 of this
Regulation.
The Regulation and the list
of relevant persons and entities have been published in the Gazette (L.N. 16
of 2008 and G.N. 616) and are available on the Government's website.
(ii)
United Nations Sanctions (Democratic Republic of the
Congo) Regulation 2008
The United Nations
Sanctions (Democratic Republic of the Congo) Regulation 2008 was also made
by the Chief Executive under the United Nations Sanctions Ordinance (Cap.
537) on 25 January 2008. This Regulation replaces the United Nations
Sanctions (Democratic Republic of the Congo) Regulation 2006 and gives
effect to certain decisions in Resolution 1771 (2007) adopted by the United
Nations Security Council. On 1 February 2008, a list of persons and
entities were specified by the Chief Executive as a relevant person or a
relevant entity under section 31 of this Regulation.
The Regulation and the list
of relevant persons and entities have been published in the Gazette (L.N. 17
of 2008 and G.N. 615) and are available on the Government’s website.
You are reminded to check
your records and report any transactions or relationships your institution
has or has had with the named persons or entities to the Joint Financial
Intelligence Unit and the HKMA.
