Return of Renminbi (RMB) Business Activities

I refer to my letter of 5 February 2004 regarding the Personal RMB Business conducted by licensed banks in Hong Kong.

As mentioned in the aforesaid letter, a new Return of RMB Business Activities (MA(BS)16) has been introduced to collect the relevant data on the RMB business of individual licensed banks. The permanent STET template for this purpose is under development. In the meantime, a temporary Excel template has been prepared and has just been delivered separately to your bank via our STET system. Your bank should use this temporary template for reporting the new return until further notice, and the first return should cover the position as at end of February 2004.
