Dear Sir/Madam,

Further to our letter of 1 November 2000 on "Return of Securities Related Activities", I am writing to inform you that the template of the STET system for the submission of prudential returns has been revised to incorporate the Return of Securities Related Activities (MA(BS)14).

The new template upgrade software and instructions will be available for downloading from our private website (www.hkfin.net) from 18 January 2001 onwards. Authorized Institutions that have been granted exempt dealer status by the SFC are expected to use the new template for reporting the Return of Securities Related Activities starting from the 6-month period ended 31 December 2000. Other authorized institutions are not required to download or submit such Return.
